Emergency Medicine

About the Department

The Emergency Department is overseen by specially trained physicians who offer comprehensive services, encompassing initial assessments and early treatments in resuscitation, trauma, and medical and pediatric emergencies, including surgery and anesthesia.

The emergency care team is fully supported by consultants from various specialties and super-specialties, available round the clock. These consultants promptly attend to patients, ensuring that required treatments are initiated within specified time frames.

The accident and trauma system is seamlessly integrated into this department, striving to address the needs of all injured or emergent patients requiring acute care, even those with complicated or multiple injuries. The goal is to align the facility's resources with the patient's needs, achieving optimal and cost-effective care.

This department adopts a systematic approach, offering "fast track" services for individuals with rapidly curable illnesses or injuries and organizing timely transfers to higher centers when necessary. This ensures swift treatment, contributing to life-saving interventions.

Resuscitation holds paramount importance in the emergency room, where immediate treatment of medical or surgical emergencies, initiation of life-saving procedures in crises, and emergency care for various conditions, including chronic medical problems, are managed.

The department adheres to common policies and procedural guidelines, ensuring uniform emergency care is equipped with diverse emergency care and patient monitoring equipment essential for life-saving procedures.

The curriculum encompasses administrative components, such as Leadership, System Development, Legislation, and Finances, and operational and clinical components, covering injury prevention and control, pre-hospital care, definitive care facilities, and insurance schemes.
